1943 Born in Nara, Japan. 1966 Graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in oil paining. 1968 Master of Fine,Art Department-murals Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. 1971 Enterd the Accademia di Venezia in Venice,Italy,and studied classical and contemporary freaco techniques under professor Bruno Saetti. 1971 La Masa Prize of Museum Bevilacqua la Masa　1974 Received Yasui Prize of 17th Yasui Prize Exhibition. 1978 Exhibits at Venice Biennale Committee Recieves Manifesto Prize. 1983 Prize of 2nd Art Promotion Association Exhibition 1987 Received 19th Grand Prize of Japan 1989 Received 30th Mainichi Art Prize. 1990 Exhibits at Art Fair in Basel 1993 Sponsored by Japan Foundation to go toChina. 1997 Commissioned to design the official poster for the Winter Olimpic Games 1998 in Nagano and individual posters for seven different sports. 2001 Received the 57th Japan Art Academy Prize. Member of Japan Art Academy, Member of Individual Arts Society, Professor emeritus at Tokyo University of Arts, Professor at Osaka University of Arts, Member of the Committee of Shanghai Expo 2010.
